Welcome to the SIEF Newsletter
The past few months have been very busy in the SIEF office with finalisation of selection of Round 3 Research Projects, the 2012 SIEF John Stocker Scholarships and Fellowships closing, the launch of the Honours scholarship program and the Awards Ceremony at Parliament House. Further detail on the Awards Ceremony and Honours program can be found below.
As indicated in the June Newsletter, it is the Trustee’s current intention to conduct a Round 4 Research Projects selection in 2012. It is likely this will be occur in the latter part of the calendar year, with further details regarding the selection criteria, timelines and potential areas of priority to be released midyear. Information will be posted on the website and notification sent to the mailing list when it becomes available.
Also as indicated in the June Newsletter, the Trustee does not intend to manage open rounds of submissions for Research Infrastructure investment and consideration of specific investment proposals will be by invitation only. Further information will be posted on the SIEF website as it becomes available.
The Undergraduate Scholarships program will be further extended in the coming months with the addition to the Honours scholarships of Vacation and Undergraduate Degree Scholarship Programs. These new opportunities will round out the SIEF Promotion of Science initiative and provide a SIEF scholarships program that extends across the tertiary education sector, encouraging collaboration across the National Innovation System.
